We Offer Hope for Many Common Thyroid Conditions
Hypothyroidism: This occurs when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. The most common cause is Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland. Other causes include surgical removal of the thyroid, radiation therapy, certain medications, and congenital factors.
Hyperthyroidism: This condition is characterized by excessive production of thyroid hormones. Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder, is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism. Other causes include toxic multinodular goiter, toxic adenoma, and thyroiditis.
Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis: It is an autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland, leading to chronic inflammation and eventual hypothyroidism.
Graves’ Disease: This autoimmune disorder causes overactivity of the thyroid gland, resulting in hyperthyroidism. It is characterized by the production of autoantibodies that stimulate the thyroid gland, leading to an excessive release of thyroid hormones.
Thyroid Nodules: These are abnormal growths or lumps within the thyroid gland. While most thyroid nodules are benign (non-cancerous), some can be malignant (cancerous). The presence of a thyroid nodule may require further investigation and monitoring.
